Poetry

I was watching an old VHS tape today and it had a Micheal Jackson concert on it. “Man in The Mirror” came on and I was inspired to do a poem.

My window cracked

I could not imagine why

and when it did

I did not think

Whereas to reach

Can be treacherous indeed

I did not reach

I did not try

The things I was told

I could not inact

And then to fail

Was such a horror

I did not want to

Admit it so

My window cracked

I did not know why

But in my heart

I knew, somehow, that it was I

Who could take the blame

The broken glass

like splintered wood

Can never be put back together

And so I cried

I did indeed

For no amount

Of glue or adhesive

Can fix a lie.
